Karla ønsker sig en far (Karla wishes for a dad) is about Karla, who is 6, goes to nursery school and lives with her mother. Karla has no father, because her mother had her with the help of a sperm donor. Karla knows a lot about how her mother could have her without having a husband. But Karla does not know much about what it is like to have a father.

One day she sees a father carrying his sleeping daughter in his arms. It looks lovely. And Karla starts wishing for a father. She talks to her mother about her wish, and she starts noticing the other children’s families. She discovers that families can be very different. In some families there is a father but no grandad. In other families there are three children and still room for one more. And not everyone has an Anne, like Karla does.

This is the third book in the series about Karla, who came into the world with the help of a sperm donor. We first meet Karla in Hvor er Karlas far?, when she is at day nursery. The second time, in Karla leger ”mor og børn”, she is a proper nursery-school girl. In the third book Karla is a big nursery-school girl about to start school. For children aged 4 to 7.
